This site might have been made with Christians in mind, but it’s meant to be a place for anyone to come and enjoy reading good stories without worrying about the content. I don't get it. What's the big deal about being a Christian? All religions are the same, right? If you would like to learn more about what it means to be a Christian, please click here. If I'm a Christian, does it matter what denomination I'm from? No, NOTW is non-denominational. :) We are simply Christians, who love the Lord Jesus and want to serve and honor Him. How did this site get started? You can learn more about what inspired this site on the About page. Who is in charge of this website? If you really, really want to know more about her, lol, you can find links to LaughtersMelody's personal websites on the Links page. (Because, obviously, she doesn't ramble enough here. ;) ) Is there any way I can help NOTW, besides submitting stories? Yes! NOTW is looking for people who are willing to be Beta Readers, to help search through web pages for typos or broken links, and to help actively promote the site. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact the mod at webmaster@notwfanfic.com. I want to help promote NOTW. Do you have banners for linking? Yes. :) If you'd like to help promote NOTW, have your own website, or post on a message board, you can find banners on both the Homepage and the Links page. The Links page also has a larger banner you can use for forums. General Fan Fiction Info How do I search the fan fiction indexes? For information about how to search for fan fiction here on NOTW, please see the Search Help page. What do the ratings mean? You can find definitions for the ratings on the Submit A Story page, under "How To Rate Your Story." I’m new to fan fiction, and the lingo is really confusing. Where can I find out what something means? You can find a list of fan fiction terms here. :) What fandoms do you accept? Right now, any fandom. :) If this changes, a notice will be put up on the homepage. But right now, any fandom is welcome, and so is original work and poetry. Are the stories here written for a specific age group? NOTW is meant to be for everyone, so the stories are all rated between G and PG-13. :) If you aren't sure what those ratings mean, you can find definitions for the ratings on the Submit A Story page, under "How To Rate Your Story." But, NOTW is not meant to be a children's website, so there are stories with darker, more intense content, such self-harm, and mentions of adult concepts, ect. While they fall within the PG-13 rating, they may not be suitable for very young children. Any stories with particularly intense content are labeled with a warning. Do you support certain pairings or ships? No. Any pairing for any fandom is welcome, except for slash. If you don't know what a "ship" or "slash" is, please see this page for a list of fan fic terms. :) Do you host any stories in other languages besides English? Unfortunately, no. The mod personally reads through every story that's submitted, and she isn't fluent enough in another language to read in anything besides English. She doesn't want to post anything that hasn't been checked for content. This might change in the future if someone fluent in a second language volunteers to read through submissions for that language. If you would like to volunteer, please let let the mod know. Submitting a Story How do I submit a story? Information, rules, and guidelines for submitting a fic can be found here. Does my story have to be Christian somehow? Or can it just be a regular story? No, it doesn’t have to be Christian. :) Stories where a character comes to know the Lord, or a miracle takes place, are always wonderful, but so are stories that don’t include either of those. As long as stories follow the rules listed here, they are welcome. :) I’m not a Christian. Can I still submit a story? Of course! :) The rules for submitting a story can be found here. Is there an age requirement to become an author? Like FanFiction.Net, NOTW asks that authors be at least 13 years of age. But, if a younger author wishes to post their work, the mod would be happy to consider it. All that would be needed is proof of their parent's permission. :) Do grammar and spelling matter? Yes, they do. :) Everyone makes mistakes, but too many mistakes can make fics very hard to read and enjoy. If a fic has too many mistakes in it, it won’t be accepted until those mistakes are fixed. Please check over your stories carefully before you submit them, and if at all possible, please also have a beta check them over too. I’m working on a story, but I’m not finished with it. Can I submit what I have so far? Sure. Works in progress (WIPs :) ) are more than welcome. But if you decide not to finish a fic, please let the mod know at webmaster@notwfanfic.com so that the link can be taken down. I already have my story posted on another website. Can you just link to it? Yes, definitely. :) More information about linking to your story can be found on the Submit A Story page under "How To Submit Your Story." What about author's notes? Can I send those with my story? It depends on how you plan to submit your story. :) To save room, author’s notes will not be posted with the fic info on the fandom indexes. But if you’re submitting your story directly to the site, any author’s notes you include can be posted on the fic itself, below the fic info at the top of the page. If you are submitting a link to your story, you can include any author’s notes on the linked page. I have cover art for my fic. Can I submit it with the story? Yes. More information about Cover Art can be found on the Submit A Story page under "Cover Art." Can people reading my stories review them here? Yes. :) All reviews go through the site to the moderator first, but they will be forwarded to you.
