Not Of This World Fan Fiction was created because, as a Christian, I have found it very hard to find fan fiction for the fandoms that I love. There are some incredible stories out there, but reading them, I realized that so many of them contain things that go against what I believe, and so many times I have to skip scenes or mentally edit what I read.
After writing and reading fan fiction for a couple years, I found myself wondering if there were other Christians out there who felt the same way I did. I started to search for Christian fan fiction, and realized that there really wasn’t much to choose from. Most of the sites I found were outdated or hadn’t been touched for quite a while.
I wish I could say that I jumped at the chance to create a website right away, but I didn’t. I had never liked computers (they always did strange things to me, lol) and I always thought that posting fan fiction was about as computer-literate as I got. But one of the websites I wanted to post on required you to link to a website of your own. They had links to a number of free webhosting companies, and suddenly...I had a website. I had no idea what I was doing, lol, but I had website. I decided to use it as a personal archive for my own fan fiction, and called it Imagination’s Fire. I had, at first, wanted to do more, but it didn’t take me very long to realize that it wasn’t a very big site, and that I barely had room for my own fics, let alone anyone else’s. So, I started praying that if the Lord wanted me to create another, larger website, that He would open the door for me.
A few months later, He did. :) My wonderful friend Shay, whom I met because of fan fiction, IM’d me one day, saying that she wanted to ask me something. She told me that she had been planning to buy webspace for another friend of hers, but that her friend had decided on something else. She asked me if I would like to have the webspace instead. I knew my prayers had been answered, and I said yes.
I don’t know what God is going to do with this site, if it is going to grow beyond anything I can imagine, or if it will only affect a few, but whatever happens, this site is dedicated to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to God be all the glory.
