Update - 1/9/10 I hope that everyone has had a fantastic new year so far! :) I have a few things to update you on. First, to start the year off, we have three great new stories up. Please check the "Fan Fiction Updates," section below for details. Next, I've been doing some minor site maintenance, and found out that a few links weren't functioning, and while the main story count was correct, a few of the author and fandom story counts were off a little. Those have now been corrected. :) There have also been some minor additons to the FAQ page, addressing some questions that have come from new users. Most importantly, if you haven't already, please, please, please check out the poll below (*gives puppy-dog eyes for good measure* ;) ) and take the time to vote. We only have a few votes so far, and I'd like to hear from as many people as possible. :) Last but not least, if you're an author here on NOTW, you can, Lord wiling, expect an email from me some time in the next few weeks with some site news, and important questions. :)

Our God is truly an awesome God. :) 2000 Hits! - 10/22/09 This isn't really an update, but I had to post something, lol. NOTW now has over 2000 hits! Praise God! :) There's a chance that a small celebration is on the way, complete with a competition. A longer post about that should, hopefully, be coming soon. :)

LaughtersMelody Update - 10/13/09 Two new stories are up on NOTW, a new fic by LovelyRoseOfPurity in the Hammer Horror Index, and a new fic by LaughtersMelody in the Dark Angel Index. For more information about the fics, please see the "Fan Fiction Updates" section below. :) There isn't much else to report yet in the way of updates, but I went through each fandom index and corrected some minor formatting issues, and fixed a few incorrect links. I also made some small changes to the Submit A Story page for clarity, but none of the changes affect any of the stories already up. :)
LaughtersMelody Update - 10/8/09 NOTW has another new author, Nicky Gabriel. Please give her a very warm welcome! She's a great writer, and she brings another new fandom to NOTW, Starsky & Hutch. Her fic, "Any Doubts" is now up on the Starsky & Hutch Index. :) For more info about the story, please see the "Fan Fiction Updates," section below.
LaughtersMelody Update - 10/7/09 The search engine is officially up and running again! And, praise the Lord, it works much better than before. :) Bear with me, because there’s a lot of new info to give you, lol. Your search results will now return all of the stories which match the term you entered -- rather than a small handful like before -- and it will also show you all of the info for that fic: title, author, summary, spoilers, ect. The navigation bars on the fandom indexes have been redone, as well as the navigation bars on the Main Fandom Index, and the Authors Index. And, there is now a Search Help page, to answer any of the questions you might have about searching for fics on NOTW. A link to the Search Help page is included with the navigation bar on each fandom index. The new search engine has been tested several times, but if you have any problems with it, please let me know as soon as possible. Please include this information in the email: 1. Describe the problem in as much detail as you can. 2. List the page the problem occurred on. 3. What type of browser do you have? (Internet Explorer, Firefox, ect.) That should be all for now, lol. But, there should be, Lord willing, some more updates in the near future. :) Take care and God bless!

LaughtersMelody Update - 9/30/09 A new fic by LaughtersMelody (and yes, she knows that it's weird to talk about herself in the third person, but she's both the mod and an author, so go easy on her, lol!) is now up in the Stargate: Atlantis Index. If you'd like more info about the story, please check out the "Fan Fiction Updates" section below. :) There's not much else to report update-wise, but there is one piece of news that's worth repeating: the Search Engine will be getting a total overhaul in the, Lord willing, very near future. It's not very effective at the moment, and for that I really apologize. Hopefully, when the overhaul is finished, it will be much easier to sort through the stories here. :)
LaughtersMelody Update - 9/20/09 NOTW has another wonderful new author: LovelyRoseOfPurity! :) Please give her a very warm welcome! LaughtersMelody Update - 9/7/09 As you can imagine, after four months without being able to update, there are quite a few things to update you on now. :) I just posted 14 new fics. Yes, I said 14, lol, and there are, Lord willing, at least a few more on their way soon. For more info about the newly posted fics, please check out the "Fan Fic Updates," section below. Two new fandoms have been added, Stargate: Atlantis, and Original Fiction. They have not yet been added to the search engine, but I thought you'd waited long enough for the update as it was, lol. They will hopefully be included in the search engine sometime within the next few days, though it may take a bit longer. In other site news, I've added a banner to the bottom of homepage, added two new questions to the FAQ page, and made some minor additions to the Submit A Story page. None of the additions impact anything already on the site, but they will hopefully clarify things in the future. One thing I did want to mention, NOTW has been getting a lot of spam lately, and so I increased the strength of the spam filters on each of the site's email addresses. Please make sure that any emails you send to the site are clearly labeled. All reviews should be labeled as, "Review," all story submissions should be labeled as "Story Submission," ect. If you change the label on an email, you risk it being deleted. I don't want to delete any legitimate mail, lol! :) And, last but not least, I've added new challenges to both the General Challenges and Fandom Specific Challenges in the "Challenge” section below. (I know, it took me long enough, lol. *blushes*) That should be it for the updates…at least for now, lol. Again, thank you so much for your patience while the site editor was down. Praise the Lord, it’s wonderful to be back!
LaughtersMelody Update - 8/21/09 If you're wondering why there's been such a big gap between updates, Banana Web hosting, the company that hosts NOTW, has been having some trouble with hackers in the last few months. They took down their site studio to fix a security flaw in it. But, Praise God, the site editor is now back up, and there will be a MASSIVE update of fics in the, Lord willing, very near future. :) Thank you so much for your patience, and please check back soon for the next update, which will include some site news, a new fandom, and tons great of fics!
LaughtersMelody Update - 3/20/09 Bhoney's great story, "Parenting Your Gifted Child," is now up in the Supernatural Index! You might have seen the fic info on the index but noticed that the link wasn't activated. Well, the fic is now accessible, and on a very, very cool note, the story was nominated for the 2008 SNFA People's Choice Award! The congratulations unfortunately come pretty late, because she was nominated while I was having my computer troubles, but all the same, from all of NOTW, congratulations bhoney! Your nomination was very well deserved. You are a fantastic writer! If you'd like to check out her fic, you can find out more about it in the "Fan Fiction Updates," section below. :) And, a mini update on the site layout -- the fandom indexes have now been beautified. If you're wondering what the means, lol, the navigation bars at the top now have the same blue background as the navigation bars at the bottom. I know you're all thoroughly impressed, lol. ;) Lord willing, yet more updates and more fics are on the way! :)
LaughtersMelody Update - 2/27/09 Praise the Lord, I'm now officially caught up from the three weeks I was without my computer. :) And as you might have guessed, that means a pretty big site update. So, bear with me, lol, I have a lot to go over. First order of business...we have a new author! Please give a very, very warm welcome to HisLight.InMe. It's wonderful to have her here. She brings two great new pieces to the site, and two new fandoms! You can find her work in the new Twilight and Non-Fiction sections. If you'd like to know more about her, please check out her bio on the Author's Index. Next, besides HisLight.InMe's two new fics, there are four -- yes, four! -- other new fics for you to check out. :) For details about the fics, please see the "Fan Fiction Updates," section below. Now, onto the probably less interesting, but still important site notes, lol. The search engine is now completely updated, with all the new fandoms, and that should hopefully workout some of the bugs users might have experienced with it. If you find the search engine results confusing or totally unhelpful, please email me and give me some details about the problems you're having. It's up for a thorough going over in the near future, Lord willing, and your comments could give me a good place to start. And, you might have noticed that the site-wide disclaimer at the bottom of each page has changed. It's now been updated to include the original works posted here. LaughtersMelody My Computer Is Back! :) - 2/21/09 Praise the Lord, I just got my computer back last night, and it's working great! The Lord was very kind, and I didn't lose any of my files, and everything was exactly where I left it. The Lord truly does answer prayer!!! I have a lot to catch up on, so it will probably take me another week to get back into the swing of things completely, but Lord willing, it won't take me too long, and I'll be able to get back to updating the site and posting new fics! As before, don't hesitate to send new fics if you have them! It will take longer to post them, but they are still more than welcome. :)
LaughtersMelody Computer Problems - 2/6/09 My computer, unfortunately, has to be sent in for repairs and I will most likely not have any internet access for the next couple weeks, so there will be no updates until my computer is back and in working order once more. But in the meantime, I hope you will enjoy what the site has to offer, and don't hesitate to send in your fics! LaughtersMelody New Author, and New Banners - 1/27/09 NOTW now has another great new author, bhoney! :) We're so glad to have her fics here! She's a fantastic writer, and the first of her stories will soon be posted. Please see the "Fan Fiction Updates," section below for more details. Also, Shay has designed some great new banners, so if you want to link to NOTW, you now have more options to choose from. If you'd like to see the new banners, you can check them out on the Links page. And, last, but not least, you will, Lord willing, being seeing some more new authors on NOTW very soon. If all goes well, there will be a fairly massive amount of fic added as well, so it may take some time to get everything up, but please keep an eye out for updates! :)
LaughtersMelody Updates, new authors, and new stories! - 1/16/09 NOTW now has two new authors, Mikel Midnight, and SophieSaulie. A very warm welcome to both of them! Mikel Midnight writes for comic book fandoms, (which means NOTW now has a Comic Book section with two new fandoms on the Main Fandom Index :) ) and SopieSaulie writes mainly for Supernatural. We're incredibly happy to have their fics here. Two of Mikel Midnight's fics are already up, and one of SophieSaulie's, and more are on the way! Please see the "Fan Fiction Updates" section below to learn more about the fics that are now posted. If you'd like to know more about the authors themselves, please see the Author Index. The Submit A Story page has also undergone some minor changes. The rules are the same, but I've expanded and hopefully clarified some of the sections. As a reminder, please read all of the rules and info before submitting a fic. It saves time, which is greatly appreciated. :) And, last but not least, the fics posted on the site and each fandom index now have a navigation bar, that will hopefully make it just a little easier to find your way around the fan fiction section. It also draws more attention to the Review This Story link... *hint* *hint* Subtle, aren't I, lol? Praise the Lord, the site is growing and God is moving. I can't wait to see where He takes us next! :)

LaughtersMelody Under Construction - 10/10/08 NOTW has just undergone a very large update! Nearly every page has at least a few changes, and the Fan Fiction Index has a very different look now. Hopefully a better one, lol! A number of questions and terms have been added to the FAQ and Terminology pages, and praise the Lord, the A New Creature and Links pages are now complete. :) Please check them out! NOTW also has a new feature that will hopefully make searching through fan fiction easier. Have you read a story from a particular author, and you really liked the way the wrote? Well, now each index includes a drop-down menu with a list of the authors in that fandom. When you select an author, the page will automatically scroll down to that author's stories in the fandom. Or, you can also search using the Authors Index, which lists info about each author, the number of stories they have written, and the fandoms they write for. The biggest praise of all, Not Of This World is getting very close to its official grand-opening! No date is set yet, but please keep an eye out for future updates! :)

Do you want to write something, but you aren't sure what? Please look at the new "Challenges" section below. Or, if you have an idea for a challenge, submit one of your own. :) There is also now an X-men The Movie section, filled with some really great fics. I hope that you'll check them out! :)

Must include at least three different daily activities (i.e. washing laundry, saving the world, walking the dog, ect.) 3. The character must talk about the people they meet along the way. Title of Challenge: Tragedy and Triumph Must haves/Can't haves: 1. Cannot be a parody, but humor is welcome within the story itself. 2. The character's must struggle with their emotions and the situation. 3. In the end, the character has to find some way to live with, and even excel with, their disability.
Title of Challenge: Hiccup Troubles Must haves/Can't haves: 1. Must be humor. 2. The character trying to help must try at least three different things to get rid of the other character's hiccups, and at least two of them must be specific to your story's fandom only. (Ex: Obi-Wan has the hiccups and Anakin suggests a light saber duel to get rid of them.) 3. Fandom: Stargate Atlantis Must haves/Can't haves: 1. The other universe's John Sheppard must have died during a mission he survived in canon. (i.e. 38 Minutes, Siege II, Common Ground, ect.) 2. You must describe the reactions of everyone at the alternate Atlantis when they interact with Sheppard. Is it awkward? Painful? Joyful? 3. Sheppard must find some way back to his own universe.
Fandom: Star Wars Must haves/Can't haves: 1. Must be humor. 2. Obi-Wan must question Anakin about one of his choices. ("I'm not sure Master Yoda would appreciate a new hair brush, Anakin.") 3. Near the very end of the fic, Obi-Wan must ask Anakin, "Anakin, isn't Padme's birthday next week? Perhaps we should search for a gift for her as well." 4.
